About Me

I am a married Step Mother of one beautiful 3 year old girl named Lily.  My husband and I have been trying for 2 years to have a baby of our own with no success.  I grew up in Merville until I was 7, and my Dad, Sister, and Brother moved to Alberta.  I began babysitting a baby boy when I was 12 years old, and grew to love the "Mother" role.  I became an avid babysitter, and I read all about parenting and childcare in my teen years. When I was 14, my family moved back to Courtenay.  I became a member of a church, and I began volunteering as a Sunday School Teacher, where I gained experience with children with F.A.S. I completed High School at G.P. Vanier in 2006.

I began traveling, and went to Jamaica with my Church Youth Group, and worked with young children and doing minor construction in July 2006. I went to North Island College for one year, taking English, Psychology, and Biology courses.  In May-June 2007, I went to China through Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship and attended an English-Canadian Culture Program, helping English-Majour University students with their English.

In 2008, I began attending Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church.  I volunteered in the Church Nursery, and in Jr. Church on a regular basis.  There I learned to work with groups of all sizes, children of all ages, and I gained experience with children with Autism.

In September 2008, I took a role as a Security Guard, where I met my now husband.  We got married in 2009. I started babysitting for a family friend, who has a baby girl when I got laid off in 2009.  I began babysitting my nephew on a regular basis when he was born in Aug 2010. I took up a Nanny job in Dec 2010-July 2011 for 2 girls, aged 3 and 5.
